James P. McKay III

Jim is an associate attorney with Smith, Hemmesch, Burke & Kaczynski. He focuses his practice in the areas of real estate taxation and real estate litigation. Jim graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011. He received his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2016, and was admitted to the Illinois bar in November 2016. While in law school, Jim served as an Executive Articles Editor for The Chicago-Kent Law Review. Prior to joining the firm, Jim was a judicial law clerk in the Circuit Court of Cook County in the Commercial Calendar and Tax & Miscellaneous Remedies sections of the Law Division. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association.
